Scandium Scandium cPanel Accessibility

We are currently investigating an outage on Scandium in relation to cPanel accessibility that is preventing users from being able to log into cPanel to manage their accounts. This is not preventing websites from loading and is only affecting cPanel at this time however we are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

We will provide further updates shortly.

Update 11:15AM - A priority ticket has been raised with cPanel regarding this issue as we believe this is an issue with cPanel itself which is causing this problem. We are continuing to investigate alongside this to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Update 12:11PM - The ticket has been escalated within the cPanel support team due to the nature of the problem however the ticket is marked as critical so is being handled as a priority.

Update 1:20PM - cPanel support are continuing to work on the issue, whilst we still don't have an ETA we are working as quickly as possible to get this resolved.

Update 4:17PM - We believe the issue is now resolved however we can't be sure until at least an hour passes without any further issues. We will leave the status up until we are happy this issue is 100% corrected.

Update 8:47PM - Unfortunately this issue has reoccurred and the previous fix is no longer working as such cPanel support have been updated and are continuing to investigate. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Update 11:13PM - A further patch has now been deployed to fix the issue, we will continue to monitor the issue overnight and will be working with cPanel closely for the next few days to ensure the root cause of the issue is identified and fully patched.

Update 22/03 @ 8:30AM - Unfortunately the second attempt at patching this has failed also and we are investigating this further.

Update 22/03 @ 9:08AM - We are going to attempt a reboot of the server to allow us to apply a number of updates and reset a few configuration files in an attempt to resolve this issue. As such this will cause a few minutes of downtime as a result. We apologise for any disruption this will cause however we will provide a further update once this is back online.

Update 22/03 @ 9:16AM - This is now back online and the issue is currently resolved. As with previous fixes we will be monitoring to ensure the fix remains stable and that the issue does not occur again.

Update 22/03 @ 9:46AM - The reboot has not resolved the issue, cPanel support have been updated regarding this.

Easy WP SMTP plugin

The popular Easy WP SMTP plugin, which has 300,000+ active installations, was prone to a critical zero-day vulnerability that allowed an unauthenticated user to modify WordPress options or to inject and execute code among other malicious actions.

We have taken steps to forcefully update all Smart clients who are using this version of the plugin to the patched version to avoid sites being exploited.
